Beginning of the Year

In the beginning, we focus a lot on our Bear Necessities: Kind, Safe and Responsible. Children are brave as they try new experiences and meet new friends. Find out more about how to support the first month of school.

As we expand our awareness of those around us and deepen our thinking about how things work, we will investigate buildings. We think about buildings we see everyday and those around the world. We consider why they may be different and how they are made.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Your child has spent all year growing and practicing everything they need to be ready for kindergarten. Remember, learning is more than memorization of the alphabet or numbers. Play is an integral part of building learning skills as it supports critical areas of development.

Our first investigation is on trees. There are so many different ways to explore this topic and practice many different skills.

Our last full investigation capitalizes on children's natural curiousity about the life around them. We will think about how insects change through their life and consider how we have grown through the school year.
