Our Curriculum

Our program uses The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, which is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum, that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical-thinking skills. We’ve chosen this curriculum because it focuses on the skills and knowledge that are most important for helping your child to be successful in school.

By using this curriculum, your child will have the opportunity to learn about the world around them using investigations. The entire curriculum is developed based on children's natural curiosity, hands-on experiences shared with peers and facilitators (teachers and parents) and shared learning celebrations. Each new investigation begins with identifying what your child already knows about the topic, wondering about the topic, exploring the topic and then sharing what they have learned with others. The investigations are never the same and allow space for your child's interests to be explored. Some topics include Trees, Balls, Tubes and Tunnels, Exercise, Insects and more.

Assessment in Preschool

We know about the power of play and authentic assessment in preschool. Authentic assessment involves observing and documenting information about a child's development through their play and routines. We often find this way of assessment to be the most accurate form of whole child assessment for our young learners. Teaching Strategies Gold offers this type of assessment for our learners and allows us to use the information to continue building our program and practices. You can see more information at their website: Teaching Strategies.

We are also a PBIS School and use The Pyramid Model in early childhood. Check out our Expectations and more here!
