Snack Information

Your child will be served one snack each day while attending preschool. Snack times in classrooms are determined by the classroom teams. All snacks served  contain 0 grams of transfat per serving. While we encourage family style serving, snacks that are not in single serving packages are served by the preschool staff. Snack is also a time for practicing many skills like:

  • Increasing oral motor skills: sensory awareness of tongue and mouth (chewing muscles and tongue control are needed for speech) 
  • Increasing language skills: vocabulary, number concepts, sequencing, turn taking 
  • Learning responsibility: clean up 
  • Improving social interaction: conversation, friendship 
  • Increasing independence: pouring, unwrapping, requesting
